716 Health Brings $67M Collaborative Medical Campus to Amherst
A New Model for Integrated Health and Community Infrastructure
Amherst has welcomed a game-changing development with the opening of 716 Health, a $67.25 million medical facility at 111 North Maplemere Drive. Developed by Ciminelli Real Estate Corporation, the 163,200-square-foot center is the first project under the Amherst Central Park (ACP) Initiative. It represents a bold step toward reshaping the region’s approach to healthcare, infrastructure, and community synergy.

Project Purpose and Community Vision
Spearheaded by one of Western New York’s most experienced developers, the facility brings together a network of not-for-profit medical providers in a shared, collaborative space. Tenants include:
- Kaleida Health
- University Orthopaedic services
- Great Lakes Imaging
- Bones and Guts
- General Physician, PC
The facility was designed to foster partnerships between providers, improve patient outcomes, and expand access to high-quality care in Amherst. The project is also a direct result of the Amherst Medical Spine strategy. This post-COVID planning initiative, supported by the Town of Amherst, Amherst IDA, and the Amherst Chamber of Commerce, aims to advance medical innovation and service delivery.
Economic Impact and Public Value
The scale and scope of this project provide wide-reaching benefits for the town,this project will:
- Job Creation and Retention: 80 new full-time equivalent positions and 247 existing roles retained, totaling 327 jobs supported on-site.
- Construction and Labor Impact: 287 construction-related jobs were created during development.
- Payroll and Wages: Estimated site payroll is $22.6 million.
- Tax Contributions: $3.3 million in property taxes, $10.8 million in sales tax revenue, $31.9 million in income taxes over time and $355,781 in mortgage recording taxes.
- PIF Proceeds: $11.99 million generated to fund public infrastructure through the ACP Infrastructure Fund.
- Public Infrastructure and Long-Term Benefits: A new boulevard and utility infrastructure were funded at the site. The Northwest Amherst Community Center is being developed in partnership with the Sweet Home School District. The project enables future phases of mixed-use development tied to recreation, residential and commercial use.
